Luna is a Pada-One: A Galaxy of Love

Luna is a Pada-One: A Galaxy of Love

When Andrew first reached out, I could feel it right away… this wasn’t just about throwing a party. This was about telling their family story.
A love story.
A parenting story.
A Star Wars story.

Andrew, a lifelong Star Wars fan, already had the scene in his mind:
a soft, dreamy version of Tatooine, full of warmth, sun, and nostalgia, but reimagined for his little girl’s very first birthday.

And how could I say no to that?

I instantly fell in love with the idea of translating such an iconic galaxy into something modern, gentle, and childlike, something that still honored the fandom, but felt cozy, sweet, and full of heart. Because this day wasn’t only about celebrating Luna turning one…
It was also about celebrating Andrew and Lulu’s first year as parents, their first year of sleepless nights, big laughs, messy moments, first steps, and endless love.

A year of becoming their own little force.

The color palette came straight from that feeling: soft desert tones, blush sands, pale sunshine, creamy neutrals, and gentle starry details. I wanted everything to feel like a calm sunrise over a desert planet rather than a battle scene, where the only things fighting were hearts melting from cuteness.

To bring this vision to life, I teamed up with the incredibly talented @fromthebear, who created the most magical custom illustrations for this universe. I shared every detail I imagined, from Luna’s tiny party hat, to soft-lined characters, warm textures, and gentle expressions, and she absolutely nailed it. The way she captured their essence was pure magic. Truly, the force was strong with her.

From the custom characters to the soft balloon galaxy, the tiny cookies, the themed details, and LUNA IS A PADA-ONE signs… everything came together like a perfectly aligned constellation.

And as we watched Luna toddle around her celebration, giggling with her parents beside her, it truly felt like:
A new hope had entered this world.

Because sometimes… the most powerful force in the universe isn’t found in lightsabers, It’s found in tiny hands holding their parents’ fingers, in first birthdays, and in love that grows stronger every single day.

This day reminded me that, the most beautiful galaxies are the ones we build at home.

Thank you, Andrew & Lulu, for letting me be part of Luna’s first chapter in this universe.
It was a day I’ll treasure forever.

May the force (and the frosting) be with you… always.
