There are some designs that simply steal your heart, and this one did from the very beginning. Susanita’s first birthday was inspired by the whimsical world of Maileg, where tiny mice live in cozy houses and every corner holds a little bit of magic.
The Story Behind the Design
When Susanita’s mom reached out, she dreamed of something timeless and delicate, a celebration that felt straight out of a storybook. We imagined a soft pastel palette, gentle textures, and the sweetest little details that would make guests feel as though they’d stepped into a miniature world.
The concept began with the idea of “Susanita tiene un ratón”, a nostalgic Spanish nursery rhyme that became our guiding thread. From there, I designed a custom illustration of a pink mouse house, where tiny mice peeked through windows, carried balloons, and celebrated in tutus.
The Inspiration & Details
The entire event bloomed in shades of blush, beige, and linen pink, every tone chosen to evoke tenderness and nostalgia.
The main backdrop was a hand-crafted mouse house façade, brought to life with cutouts and 3D details. A soft floral arch of baby’s breath framed the scene like a cloud.
The table setting featured natural textures, rattan chairs, pink plates, and delicate florals that felt straight from a garden story. Handmade hats, gift bags, and party tags all featured the illustrated mice, making each detail feel lovingly personal.
It wasn’t just a setup it was a story unfolding in real life.
